Bhubaneswar Lingaraj Temple Road Station to be upgraded with Rs 19.5 Crore
The prime objective for redevelopment of the Lingaraj Temple Road Station is to boost passenger convenience and supporting the growing number of commuters and pilgrims visiting the iconic Lingaraj Temple.
Bhubaneswar: The Lingaraj Temple Road Railway Station in Bhubaneswar is undergoing a significant makeover with an expenditure of Rs 19.53 crore.
The prime objective for redevelopment of the Lingaraj Temple Road Station is to boost passenger convenience and supporting the growing number of commuters and pilgrims visiting the iconic Lingaraj Temple.
The redevelopment plan of the Lingaraj Temple Road station in Bhubaneswar includes:
- A 12-metre-wide foot overbridge to improve inter-platform movement
- Dedicated parking areas for two- and three-wheelers
- A 130 sq.m. air-conditioned waiting lounge for added passenger comfort
- Modern modular toilets
- Platforms paved with granite and mosaic tiles
- A new cafeteria and commercial zone
- 29 additional platform shelter bays
- Upgraded digital display systems for train and coach information
Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi recently reviewed the modernisation work and announced that it will be completed to be inaugurated by October 31, 2025 to provide a cleaner, safer, and more comfortable environment to the visitors.
Reviewed the progress of modernisation of Lingaraj Railway Station -a project worth Rs 20 crore-in Ekamra area today. MLA @babusinghodisha,DRM Railways, Sri Bajwa alongwith local residents were present.
