Bhubaneswar: Couple Critically Injured After Garbage Truck Hits Scooty
The accident took place on the Sainik School Road in the capital city of Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Road accidents continue to rise in the capital city of Odisha. A couple was critically injured after a garbage truck hit their scooty on the Sainik School Road on Tuesday.
The victims, identified as Radhakanta Mahanta and Jayanti Mahanta, were on their way to their destination when a garbage-laden truck hit them from behind near Gadhakan Dasharaja Temple in the Mancheswar area.
The impact was severe, throwing the couple onto the road. Locals rushed to the spot and rescued the injured couple. They were later shifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Mancheswar police reached the spot and initiated investigation.
The incident comes a day after three people died in a series of accidents on Sainik School Road under Maitri Vihar police limits on Monday night. The main accused in that case, driver Anil Kumar Gouda, has surrendered at the police station.
