As per reports, a farmer spent 24 hours stranded atop a palm tree in the middle of a field. Surrounded by floodwater, he was fighting for survival.
As per the information received, Trilochan Sahu of Gondicha Sahi under Nadigaon Panchayat in Dhamnagar block had gone to work in his field when rising floodwaters trapped him. With no way out, he climbed a palm tree to save his life. He spent nearly 24 hours on top of that tree, battling hunger and fear. The rescue operation began after his son made a phone call. Three ODRAF teams searched through the night, but could not trace him. Finally, this morning the ODRAF team successfully rescued the farmer safely.
Trilochan’s son, Saroj Sahu, had informed Dhamnagar MLA cum Minister Suryabanshi Suraj over phone about his father being missing and trapped in the field.
After getting the information, the Minister immediately formed a rescue team and assigned the responsibility to the Dhamnagar SDPO. After the rescue, smiles returned to the faces of the family members, and locals also heaved a sigh of relief.
