Bear attack in Odisha’s Sundergarh leaves old man critical

Bonai: In a shocking incident an old man sustained critical injury after being attacked by a bear in Sundergarh district of Odisha on Wednesday. The incident took place in the forest near Taladihi village in Barasuan Forest Range in the district.

The victim has been identified as 55 year old Gura Munda of Taladihi.

As per reports, Gura Munda had gone to the forest to graze cows along with another person. When they were in the forest, a bear reportedly attacked Munda for which he sustained critical injury.

After getting information about the bear attack Dharanidhar Sahu, Forest Ranger of Barasuan and Forester Manas Ranjan Sahu rushed to the spot and rescued the old man. They then rushed the critically injured Munda to the Sub Divisional hospital of Bonai.

After primary treatment as his health condition deteriorated, the victim was then shifted to Rourkela hospital for treatmen.
