Puri: A Mobile Command Vehicle by Fire and Emergency Service Department of Odisha has been deployed in Puri to monitor the arrangements and situation in the city in view of BahudaYatra.

The vehicle is equipped with  as many as ten cameras, among other facilities, and also comes with a satellite communication facility as well as a mini-conference room. Dr. Umashankar Dash, DIG, Fire and Emergency Services said, “This is Mobile Command Vehicle. This has been used by Fire and Emergency Service Department of Odisha for the first time during this Rath Yatra. This is a testing period, and we have found it very useful.”

Dr. Dash further added, “This has 10 cameras fitted with it. We have VHF set, HF set, we have satellite communication, we have video conference facility to Bhubaneswar and any place that we like. We also have a mini-conference room where senior officers come and discuss things and take immediate decisions on the spot itself.”

He also informed that, “This time we have deployed around 64 specially trained special rescue teams. 8 members in each team under one Assistant Fire Officer. They have been equipped with oxygen, a defibrillator and within 5 minutes they can revive a patient and take to hospital for further treatment.”
