Cuttack: A baby crocodile was rescued from the Kathajodi River bank under CDA area in Cuttack city of Odisha on Wednesday at about 10.15 am. The said baby crocodile is said to be four months old.
As per reports, the baby crocodile was rescued from the Kathajodi River bank today by the officials of the forest department. Wildlife experts from the Nandankanan Zoological Park were also present during the rescue.
The rescued crocodile has been identified as a ghadial species crocodile with a long and thin snout (Thantua Kumbhira).
The forest department officials will decide where to release the crocodile later. And this will be done after health check of this reptile. The crocodile was rescued in the presence of Cuttack City Forest Division staff and experts from Nandankanan.
Wherefrom the crocodile came to the River bank is yet to be ascertained.
