Rourkela: Some armed dacoits looted cash and jewellery from a house at Bandhamunda Diesel colony of Rourkela after tying up the family members with ropes in the early hours of Saturday.
The incident took place around 3 am on Saturday when the family of Dilip Panda were asleep. The dacoits, all masked and carrying pistol, broke open the room window and sneaked inside the house.
The dacoits tied them with a rope and asked the children to keep their mouth shut. Then they ransacked the cupboards and all rooms and looted 300-400 gms of gold and silver jewellery and around Rs 10,000 of cash.
On being informed about the loot, the Bandhamunda police reached the spot along with the dog squad and started a probe into the matter.
