Bhubaneswar: The Angul Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) plant will become world’s largest single-location steel plant, informed Naveen Jindal, the third-time Member of Parliament for Kurukshetra and chairman of Jindal Steel and Power (JSP) today.

While speaking to the media persons on the side-lines of the ‘Utkarsh Odisha–Make in Odisha Conclave 2025’, Naveen Jindal said, “I extend my best wishes to Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and congratulate him for organising the Utkarsh Odisha conclave in a grand manner. Investors from the country and outside the nation have come to attend the Utkarsh Odisha event. A lot of investment will happen in Odisha following which lakhs of youths will get job opportunities and Odisha will develop. The future of the people the State will be brighter.”

While speaking about his future investment in the state, he said, “The Jindal Steel and Power has made the highest investment in Odisha which is about Rs 1 lakh crores. The six million tonnes steel plant in Angul will be doubled and become 12 million tonnes within this year. And within the next six years, we will make it 25 million tonnes as we want to make it world’s largest single-location steel plant with an investment of Rs 70,000 crores.”

“The Angul JSPL plant is a coal gasification plant and in the coming days, we will use the green technologies and hydrogen. We also have a plan to set up a green steel plant,” Jindal said adding that through sustainable processes like green steel and coal gasification, we are promoting environmental responsibility.

“Furthermore, with the development of the Paradip Western Dock Port, we are driving infrastructure growth in the state. Additionally, we are exploring a new steel plant in Keonjhar, aligned with the Chief Minister Mohan Majhi’s vision for the region’s development, the JSP chairman informed.
