Shah made the statement in Ganjam district, which remains the fortress of BJD and Naveen Patnaik’s home turf.
“Odisha is rich in culture, has Lord Jagannath’s blessings and a vast coastline, but remains poor. Development is still eluding the State,” said Amit Shah while stressing on the need to boost tourism and youth empowerment.
“What the Modi Government has given to Odisha in the last three years is far more than what the State got in 25 years prior to 2014,” Shah claimed.
Earlier, Amit Shah was felicitated by residents of Dumduma in Bhubaneswar before leaving for Ganjam. He also paid floral tributes to martyrs of the 1817 Paika Rebellion during his brief halt in Khurda.
Shah met the booth workers in Hugulapata village and asked them to spread the message of Modi Govt’s achievements among the public. He also had lunch at the house of Nabin Swain along Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and others.
Shah also addressed a rally at BDA Ground in Ambapua and asked the workers to get rejuvenated and to reach out to the masses.
“Odisha is a rich state, but became poor because of scams. Only BJP can end corruption and expedite development here,” he said. He further added that only 22% people in Odisha have toilets, which is a disturbing trend.
