Ambulance catches fire after being hit by truck in Jaleswar, 4 including patient critical

Jaleswar: At least four people including a patient were critically injured after an ambulance caught fire after being hit by a truck in Jaleswar of Odisha’s Balasore district.

The incident occurred on National Highway number 60 near Mirigimunfi chakk under Rupsa police limit of the district.

According to sources, the ambulance was en route from Basta to Balasore when it collided with the truck. Due to collision the cylinder of the ambulance exploded resulting in fire. Meanwhile, the driver of the truck fled from the spot.

On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and admitted the injured in the nearby hospital. The cops further initiated a probe into the matter.

Earlier, a bike hit the back of truck parked on a bridge in Cuttack district of Odisha, two people have died and one has been critically injured.

Reports say that in this accident, the two youths who were on the bike died on spot while the third one was seriously injured. The road mishap took place yesterday night on Madhusudan Bridge connecting Cuttack CDA Sector 11 with Nuapatna.
