All India Conference of Director Generals of Police to be held in Odisha, PM Modi likely to attend

Bhubaneswar: A three-day All India Conference of Director Generals of Police (DGP) to be held in Bhubaneswar from November 29 and a preparatory meeting in this regard was held at the Odisha DGP’s camp office today.

Senior officers of Intelligence Bureau (IB), DGP Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, Director of Intelligence RP Koche, ADG (Headquarters) Dayal Gangwar, ADG (Modernisation) SK Priyadarshi, Commissioner of Police Suresh Dev Datta Singh, Additional Commissioner of Police Umashankar Dash and others took part the review meeting today.

The meeting discussed different ways and means to hold the All India Conference of Director Generals of Police successfully as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval are expected to attend the annual conference.

Important issues such as internal security, combating cybercrime and Maoist menace will be discussed during the three-day conference of the top cops of the states.

It is to be noted here that the All India DGP conference will be held in Odisha for the first time.

Earlier, this annual DGP conference was restricted to only New Delhi, but after 2014, it was held at a different place. The conference was held in Guwahati in 2014 and in 2015, it was held in Dharoda of Gujarat.

Likewise, the annual conference was held at Hyderabad in 2016 and at Tekanpur BSF Academy (Madhya Pradesh) in 2017. Similarly, it was held at Kevadiya of Gujarat in 2018, and in Pune in 2019, but it was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid pandemic.

Lucknow hosted the annual DGPs conference in 2021, and Delhi and Jaipur in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
