All Govt and private schools of Nabarangpur district to remain closed today
The holiday has been announced in the wake of heavy rain alerts for the district
Nabarangpur: The Collector of Nabarangpur district in Odisha has declared holiday for all the Government and privates schools of the district today in view of the heavy rain alert.
It is to be noted that the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Nabarangpur district for heavy rain in the district. As per the order all the government and private schools as well as Anganwadi Centres across Nabarangpur district will remain closed today.
As informed by the weather department under the influence of the upper air cyclonic circulation over west central and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha coasts, a fresh low-pressure area has been formed over the same region.
In view of this, IMD issued a red warning saying that heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy falls and thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur on Monday.
Worthy to mention here that schools of Malkangiri district have also been declared holiday today for the rail alert.
