Aditya Kumar Mohapatra appointed as Judge of Orissa High Court

Cuttack: The President of India today appointed Advocate Aditya Kumar Mohapatra as the new Judge of the Orissa High Court, Cuttack.

“In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Aditya Kumar Mohapatra, to be a Judge of the Orissa High Court, with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office,” an official notification said.

Earlier on September 30, Supreme Court Collegium had recommended two lawyers and two judicial officers for elevation as judges of the Orissa High Court. Besides, Advocate Mohapatra, Mruganka Sekhar Sahoo along with Radha Krishna Pattanaik and Sashikanta Mishra were appointed as Judges while

A resolution to this effect was passed by the Collegium in a meeting held on September 29, say reports. The Orissa High Court currently has 13 sitting judges, whereas the full strength of the bench is 20.
