Abandoned newborn girl rescued from bushes in Koraput

Koraput: In an unfortunate incident, an abandoned newborn girl has been rescued from bushes near Semiliguda College in the Koraput district.

Reportedly, the newborn girl was found abandoned inside a sack.

A local heard her crying from the bushes and found her tied inside a sack from the bushes. He immediately informed the Semiliguda police station about the unfortunate incident.

On getting the information, Sunabeda Police as well as the Child Line team arrived at the scene and rescued the newborn baby girl.

The child was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment and was later shifted to Special Newborn Care Units (SNCU) of Saheed Laxman Nayak (SLN) Medical College & Hospital, Koraput, informed Koraput Child Protection Officer Rajshree Das.
