Bhubaneswar: AAPI Global Healthcare Summit inaugurated at KIMS. The 19th Global Healthcare Summit 2026 was inaugurated at KIMS by the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin.

More than 110 renowned doctors, researchers, health experts, and innovators from India and the US participated in this conference that is to be held from January 9 to 11. This is the first time that such a conference has been organized at KIMS in Odisha.

Joining the inauguration ceremony online, Union Health Minister JP Nadda said that such a conference is an important platform to advance international medical cooperation and knowledge exchange by joining virtually. Indian-origin doctors have created a deep and lasting global impact through compassion, discipline and professional excellence, not only in building modern healthcare organizations in the US, but also in creating a deep and lasting global impact through compassion, discipline and professional excellence.

Dr. Achyuta Samant, founder of KIIT, KISS and KIMS, said that such a global gathering of doctors is a proud moment for Odisha. Emphasizing on AAPI, he said that AAPI represents more than one lakh Indian-origin doctors working in the US. AAPI plays an important role in fostering a bridge between India and the US through continuous educational collaboration, research, knowledge exchange and capacity building.

Dr. Samant was felicitated by AAPI on this occasion. AAPI President and AAPI GHS Chairman Dr. Amit Chakravarthy said that AAPI is the second largest medical organization in the US. More than 110 delegates had registered for the conference.

Hosting the conference at KIMS provided delegates with a tour of the world-class educational and healthcare ecosystem of KIMS and KIMS and an insight into the rich culture and heritage of Odisha. Elaborating on the conference, Dr. Atashu Nayak, President, Odisha Physicians of America, said that the conference brought together leading physicians to discuss modern medical practices, disease prevention, diabetes and metabolism.
