9 foot long python rescued in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, watch

Bangiriposi: A 9 foot long python was rescued in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district yesterday night. The rare python had fallen in the net spread for fishing in the Anlatada village under Bangiriposi Forest range.

According to reports, locals in Anlatada village discovered a massive python entangled in the net late on Wednesday night. Upon noticing the snake, the villagers promptly informed the Forest department officials. The forest officials arrived at the village and took custody of the rescued python from the villagers.

The Bangiriposi forest department reportedly said that the python weighs an estimated 40 kg while it is about 9 feet long and a rare one.

It is speculated that the python had wandered into the village from the Simlipal sanctuary in search of food.

The forest department authorities suggested that the snakes are venturing into villages in search of food. Recently, it has been observed that many wild snakes have started entering various villages in search of food.
