89th Birth Anniversary of noted socialist leader Pradyumna Bal observed in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The 89th birth anniversary of noted socialist leader eminent Journalist, Statesman and founder of Odia daily Pragativadi, Shri Pradyumna Bal was observed at KISS and KIIT here in Odisha on Monday.

KISS and KIIT Founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta garlanded Sri Bal’s photo and paid tribute to him at a programme organised in the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) premises. On this occasion Dr. Samanta said that Shri Bal was worried about upliftment of the socially backward class as well as poor people and especially the people of the Schedule Tribes. He was a rare personality.

“Today is the 89th Birth Anniversary of our former President Late Shri P K Bal. We, the members of KIIT and KISS family paid tributes to him. I am truly indebted to him for his blessings towards me,” Dr Samant wrote on his Facebook page.

On this occasion VC of KISS Prof. Deepak Behera, Dr. Kanhu Charan Mahali, Dr. Prashanta Kumar Routray, Sri Pramod Patra and Prof. Gyanaranjan Mohanty were present and spoke about Shri Bal.

In the wake of Corona pandemic, the event was organised with limited participation. Dr. Samanta also garlanded the statue of Shri Bal in the KIMS premises today and paid his tribute.
