755 new posts sanctioned for medical colleges and hospitals in Odisha
The Odisha government has taken another important step to further strengthen the health system of the state and provide better quality healthcare to the people.
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has taken another important step to further strengthen the health system of the state and provide better quality healthcare to the people. A total of 755 new posts have been sanctioned to strengthen teaching and patient care in various government medical colleges and medical educational institutions in the state.
This decision is not limited to just creating new posts; rather, it is a far-sighted step towards improving the quality of medical education in the state, creating efficient doctors and providing better and faster healthcare to the patients.
The sanctioned posts include 7 Professors, 35 Associate Professors, 50 Assistant Professors, 29 Tutors, 248 Senior Residents, 190 Junior Residents (MBBS), 112 Casualty Medical Officers (CMOs) and 84 Blood Bank Officers (BBOs).
After filling up these posts, the availability of teachers and doctors in medical colleges will increase, which will have a positive impact on both medical education and patient care. On this occasion, the Minister of Health and Family Welfare Dr. Mukesh Mahaling said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has been giving top priority to the health sector.
The aim of the state government is to provide better healthcare to the people and further strengthen the infrastructure of medical education. The sanction of these 755 posts will increase the required human resources in medical colleges and patients will be able to get better medical services.
Recently, two hundred and fifty MBBS seats have been added in three new medical colleges. Similarly, the increase in PG seats has recently reached 68. As a result, the sanction of professor and other posts was required.
With the sanction of these posts, the Minister expressed the hope that this decision of the state government will further strengthen the health system of Odisha and will set new milestones in the field of quality medical education and healthcare in the coming days.
