6 minors escape from Juvenile Home in Berhampur

Ganjam: As many as six children have escaped from a juvenile home in Berhampur of Ganjam district in the wee hours of Monday.

Reportedly, the juveniles broke the window railing of the Observation Home & Special Home For Boys, Berhampur, between 2 am to 3 am, attacked the security guard while trying to escape. The security guard was critically injured during the attack.

According to the authorities, there were a total of 112 children staying in the juvenile home. However, six of them were found missing today morning. On investigation, they found they had escaped through the window.

A complaint has been lodged at Baidyanathpur Police Station in this regard. The whereabouts of the escapees are yet to be ascertained. Police probe underway.
