Guwahati: Odisha’s ace sprinters Dutee Chand and Srabani Nanda won silver and bronze medals respectively in 200 meters women running event in the ongoing 58th National Inter-state Senior Athletics Championships here today.
While Dutee won the silver by clocking 23.41 seconds, Srabani pocketed the bronze with a timing of 23.87 seconds. Assam’s Hima Das with a time of 23.10 seconds grabbed the gold medal of the event.
In a related development, shuttler Rutaparna Panda and rower Sanjukta Dung Dung have been selected for Jakarta Asian Games-2018.
Dutee Chand and Jauna Murmu are the other two Odia athletes who were selected earlier in their respective disciplines for the Asian Games which is slated to be held in August-September this year.
Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, taking to his twitter handle, congratulated the athletes for their selection for the mega sporting event.
