5 highway robbers arrested by Commissionerate police from Bhubaneswar, details here

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police has arrested a gang of robbers, informed Sanjeeb Panda, the Commissioner of Police. In a presser on Thursday, a special squad arrested the infamous five robber gang.

Reports further said that, the gang leader Ayushman has also been arrested. This gang was operating in Bhubaneswar while most of the robbers reside in Jatni. They targeted people who travelled in the highway.

Mostly, women were targeted. This gang looted only gold chains. As many as 40 gold chains worth 400g have been seized from them. Along with this, 2 lakh rupees and four speed bikes were seized from the accused persons. From Bhubaneswar to Bhadrak, Bhubaneswar to Ganjam, and from Bhubaneswar to Puri they used to chase and loot people.

They were however looting from Bhubaneswar since the last four months. There are a total of 24 cases registered against the gang. After the robbery, they used to sell the chains and get money. They used to buy expensive shirts and shoes with that money and lived in big hotels. They were all active on social media.

There were cases against the accused persons in Berhampur, Khurda, Ganjam and Puri. After the robbery, the gang used to change the number plates of the vehicles, the CP Sanjeeb Panda further informed.
