40 contingents to take part in state-level Independence Day celebrations at Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: As many as 40 contingents will take part in the state-level 78th Independence Day celebrations on August 15 which will be celebrated at the Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar, announced Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday.

The Chief Minister also informed that he will hoist the national flag at 9 AM and address the gathering. Soon after his address, he will receive the salute of the combined parade, featuring contingents from schools, colleges, police forces, and other organizations.

Majhi made the announcement after chairing a meeting with Additional Chief Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of I &PR Department Sanjay Singh, Special Secretary to Home Department Santosh Bala and Twin City Police Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda.

During the meeting, he also directed the allocation of additional funds for the celebration of Independence Day at the district level.
