Soro: Tension ran high at Uttareswar petrol pump under Soro police limits here last night, after a brawl took place between its staff and a group of customers over ‘coin transaction’ and the latter was made to kneel for hours.
As per the report, a group of at least three youths from Balasore, who had gone to their sister’s house in Markona and were returning home late night on a bike, arrived at the petrol pump for refilling purpose. After refilling the petrol pump man had to return Rs 5 in change and he handed over coins of Rs 2 and Re 1 which the trio refused to accept.
It is alleged that, the victims attacked the petrol pump staff after the latter refused them to tender Rs 5 coin and in retaliation were made to kneel on a nearby road.
Local police seized the victims later in the night from the clutches of the filling station staff.
