Umerkote: A tragic incident unfolded in Dharabatarar village under Bhinsaguda panchayat on Nabrangpur-Chhatisgarh border on Friday evening, when a three-year-old was mauled to death by a leopard while palying.
According to sources, the three-year-old, a resident of Dharabatarar village was playing in the courtyard of her home when she was attacked by a leopard and took her inside the jungle.
Some villagers spotted the leopard taking away the girl and they screamed. The leopard left the girl and vanished into the bushes of the jungle, but the minor died in the attack. Another person from the village was also injured in the attack.
On being informed about the attack, the forest personnel and police reached the village and started an investigation into the incident.
The forest officials have advised the villagers not to go to the forest side areas and have kept a vigil on the movement of the Leopard.
