3 places in Odisha records maximum day temperature more than 40 degree Celsius

Bhubaneswar: In a sigh of slight relief from the scorching heatwave condition, only three places of Odisha including the State Capital City, Bhubaneswar, recorded the maximum day temperature of more than 40 degrees Celsius, informed the city-based regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

While mercury touched the 41 degree Celsius mark in Boudh and Paralakhemundi, in Bhubaneswar, the day temperature was recorded at 40.8 degrees Celsius, this year’s highest temperature for Bhubaneswar till date.

As many as seven places of the State witnessed 39 degrees Celsius or above temperature today. They are Angul (39.1), Jharsuguda (39.2), Sundergarh (39), Bhawanipatna (39), Khurda (39.2), Kendrapada (39.2) and Nayagarh (39).
