3 killed, 11 injured as picnic bus collides head-on with truck in Odisha’s Nayagarh

Three people were killed and more than 11 people were injured after a picnic bus collided head-on with a truck in the Daspalla area of Nayagarh.

Nayagarh: In an unfortunate incident, three people were killed and more than 11 people were injured after a picnic bus collided head-on with a truck in the Daspalla area of Nayagarh district of Odisha. The major accident took place on Nationa Highway number-57 near Salabhanga forest under Banigocha police in the Daspalla area of Nayagarh.

According to reports, the bus was carrying students of a tutorial was heading towards the southern Odisha when it collided head-on with a speeding truck coming from the opposite direction.

The rescue operation was carried by police and fire service personnel along with the help of locals. The injured people were rushed to the Daspalla hospital. However, the doctor declared two people dead in hospital and another one died on the way to Nayagarh hospital while in a critical condition.

Reports have stated that all three deceased persons were students of Class 10. Further reports are awaited.
