3 dead, 2 critical as 2 trucks collide head-on to save dog in Daspalla, watch
The fatal accident took place in the Takera Ghati under Dasapalla police station limits in Nayagarh district
Daspalla: In a fatal accident that took place in the Takera Ghati under Dasapalla police station limits in Nayagarh district of Odisha today evening, 3 persons were killed and 2 turned critical. The accident took place after two trucks collided head-on to save the dog on the Balangir-Khordha National Highway.
As per reports, an alum laden truck with registration no. AP 31TH779 was coming from Dasapalla side and another lime laden truck was coming from the opposite direction from the Boudh side bearing registration no. OD18K9654.
In the evening, near Takera Ghati, a dog suddenly came onto the road, and the two trucks collided with each other head-on to save the dog. As a result both the trucks overturned to the roadside.
After getting information, firefighters rushed to the scene and rescued three people and sent them to Dasapalla Hospital for treatment. The doctor there declared one of them dead, while the other two are being treated in a critical condition.
Two people are still trapped in the truck. They are also dead. Efforts are on to extricate them. A biker managed to save himself luckily.
A truck has overturned on a bike. The bike rider survived as he managed to escape from the vehicle and ran away.
The identity of the deceased persons is yet to be ascertained, but police have reached the spot and started investigation.
