Jharsuguda: Panic prevailed among the villagers of Jharsuguda district after major breach in the ash pond of Odisha Power Generation Corporation (OPGC)’s thermal plant in Ib Valley on Saturday.
Reports say, a 20-ft breach was seen on the No-3 ash pond of the OPGC plant which led to flooding of toxic water from the pond and damaged farmlands in around three villages.
There was fear among the residents of the villages after seeing the slurry and toxic water gushing in.
