2 killed as bike hits roadside tree in Odisha’s Balangir district

Balangir: In a tragic incident, at least two persons were killed in a road mishap on Saturday in Balangir district of Odisha. The accident took place near Kharlikani village on the Balangir-Titlagarh road today afternoon.

The deceased persons have been identified as Om Mahaling and Tubulu Bhoi of Ratakhandi village in the district.

As per reports, the two youths were travelling in a bike. The rider lost balance and hit the bike on a roadside tree. Accordingly, both of them were thrown away and died on the spot.

Witnessing the accident, the locals rushed to the spot and tried to rescue the victims. However, they had died. Hence, the locals called police and ambulance.

After getting information Balangir Sadar Police reached the spot and initiated investigation. The bodies were seized and sent to hospital in an ambulance for autopsy. Further probe of the accident is underway.
