15 feet long python snake rescued in Cuttack district of Odisha, watch

Salipur: In a rare incident, a 15 feet long python snake has been rescued in Cuttack district of Odisha on Wednesday. The huge snake was rescued from a bush in the bank of River Mahanadi in Nankar Gada area in Barada panchayat under Kisan Nagar police station limits in the district.

As per reports, the locals had witnessed the huge python at different places on different occasions in the same area several times. Today, after the snake was sighted hiding under a bush on the River Mahanadi bank, the locals intimated the Forest Department to rescue the huge reptile.

After getting information, the officers of the Forest Department reached the spot and rescued the large snake. Upon observation it was seen that the python was about 15 feet long.

As per the Forest Department, the snake will be released to its natural habitat into the jungle at the Dama Damani forest in Choudwar area. As of now, the snake has been caged in an iron cage.

It is to be noted that rescue of a 15 feet long snake in Odisha is rare. Last time a snake of this size had been rescued in Gajapati district in last June. Then, a 15 feet long banded krait snake had been rescued in the Gajapati district of Odisha. The poisonous snake was found in a hotel near the bus stand of Mohana.
