123 more arrested, 136 vehicles seized while transporting sand and moram illegally

As many as 123 people were arrested while 136 vehicles were seized as the special drive of Odisha Police against illegal lifting and transportation of minor minerals i.e. sand, moram, lateral soil etc continues across the State.

Bhubaneswar: As many as 123 people were arrested while 136 vehicles were seized as the special drive of Odisha Police against illegal lifting and transportation of minor minerals i.e. sand, moram, lateral soil etc continues across the State.

As per the direction of DGP Y.B Khurania, the State police started the special drive against illegal lifting and transportation of minor minerals a couple of days ago.

As part of the enforcement today, a total of 119 cases were detected in different districts in which 136 number of vehicles including tractors, trucks, Hyvas and 407 loaded with sand, moram were seized while transporting sand and moram illegally with arrest of 123 accused persons.

The enforcement activity is going on and district have been instructed to take feed backs from local residents to make this drive success.

By Mar 7 (Friday), the police had arrested 54 people and seized 80 vehicles within two days after launching the special drive against illegal lifting and transportation of minor minerals.
