Sundergarh: After a few days lull dense fog again took its toll in the state today after a Hyva driver was killed and two persons sustained critical injuries in a series vehicle crash at Gadaposh Chhak under Kutra Police Station area in Sundergarh district today.
The mishap took place early in the morning while the visibility was very low and as many as 11 heavy vehicles were en-route to Sundergarh. It is suspected that, the drivers of the vehicles failed to detect the vehicles running ahead and ended up dashing against them from rear one after the other.
The deceased Hyva driver whose identity is yet to be ascertained was killed on the spot after getting trapped inside his mangled vehicle.
The injured were later shifted to Kutra Hospital for treatment in an ambulance.
Meanwhile, Police along with fire brigade teams have reached the spot and are trying to clear the road for traffic restoration.
