The accused is now being interrogated by the Rourklea ACF and other forest department officials to ascertain who all are involved in this crime.

It is to be noted that five youths were arrested in connection with the seven fire points that have been reported in the Gurguria, Talabandha, and Chahala ranges of the Similipal National Park.

The five youths have been arrested for attempting to set fire in Naana range of Similipal forest reserve with allegedly an intention to hunt wild animals.

Earlier in 2021, the fire in Similipal forest had caused irreversible damage to the forest and its inhabitants. The State Government had engaged ODRAF teams to stop the forest fire.
