Yogi Adityanath elected BJP’s legislative party leader in UP, to take oath as CM tomorrow

Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath was unanimously chosen the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislature party in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday ahead of him taking oath as the chief minister of the state for a second consecutive term.

The party’s legislature party meeting was attended by senior leaders, including Amit Shah.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held on Friday in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and top BJP leaders.

The BJP-led alliance had won 273 of 403 seats in the elections, while the alliance led by the main opposition Samajwadi Party (SP) bagged 125 seats.
