Yesvantapur-Tatanagar Express Catches Fire In Andhra Pradesh, Several Trains Delayed

Vijayawada: A fire broke out in the pantry car of the 12890 Yesvantapur-Tatanagar Express at Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district late on Monday night. The pantry coach was separated from other bogies in the exact nick of time, which prevented the fire from spreading to other coaches.

As per reports, no injuries have been reported from the incident. The origin of the fire is yet to be ascertained. A spokesperson of the South Central Railway informed that the train was immediately stopped after flames were noticed. As a precautionary measure, the overhead supply of the train was also switched off.

The Express train was heading to Tatanagar (Jamshedpur) in Jharkhand from Yesvantapur Railway Station in Karnataka’s capital city Bengaluru. Due to the fire, several trains have been delayed including Secunderabad-Howrah Falaknuma Express, Yesvantapur-Howrah Duronto Express, Tirupati-Puri Express, Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam Godavari Express, Chennai Central-Puri Express, Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Duronto Express and Secunderabad-Bhubaneswar Visakha Express.
