World’s Fastest man Usain Bolt faces competition from Indian runner

New Delhi : 28-year-old Srinivasa Gowda a Buffalo jockey/ runner from Karnataka made the headlines on Friday for being compared with  Olympic runner, Usain Bolt.

Gowda participated in annual buffalo running competition known as Kambala race and finished it with a record timing of 9.55 seconds. He beat Usain Bolt’s world record of 9.58 seconds for 100m race.

Gowda covered a total distance of 142.50 meters within 13.62 seconds. This stint was compared with Usain Bolt’s record run in Olympics.

Kambala is a traditional buffalo race which held in Karnataka state every year. It serves as an entertaining event for the people of rural Karnataka.  Gowda not only broke Bolt’s record but also broke previous Kambala race records. Now he holds the record for fastest Kambala racer.

Notably, Usain Bolt world-renowned sprinter who has won 8 gold medals in Olympics. He belongs to Carribean country Jamaica.
