Women wrestlers sexual harassment case: Court in Delhi records statement of witness
New Delhi: In the women wrestlers sexual harassment case, the court in Delhi recorded the statement of witness in a detailed manner on Thursday.
According to reports, the Delhi’s Rouse Avenue court has recorded the evidence (statement) of the main witness. It is further worth mentioning that, the statement was recorded in a closed courtroom.
Former BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh is accused in this case. On November 4 the Rouse Avenue court had issued summons to witness No 1/victim for recording of evidence. Further it is worth mentioning that, the witness/victim who was summoned earlier, did not turn up for the evidence as she is out of India for a wrestling championship.
Delhi police on October 19 dropped one witness, coach Jagbeer Singh, from the women wrestlers sexual harassment case. Earlier he was cited as a prosecution witness. Now the court has listed the matter for recording the evidence of another victim wrestler.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Priyanka Rajpoot recorded the statement of Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) Atul Srivastava that the prosecution wants to drop Jagbeer Singh as a prosecution witness.
