Woman thrashed inside Bengaluru police station
In the video, police personnel can be seen assaulting a woman who had come to the police station with a complaint of a family dispute involving her daughter Takeshwari
An inhumane incident took place recently at the Kumaraswamy Layout police station in Bangalore where a woman was thrashed by an ASI. An assistant sub-inspector (ASI), Renukaiah, was suspended in the incident after the video went viral.
Takeshwari (20) from Andhra Pradesh had run off from her house and started working as a receptionist at a hotel in Bengaluru after alleged harassment from her in-laws and mother. She was married to her uncle when she was a minor and was constantly being harassed by her husband and family.
The girl’s mother along with her relatives had gone to the hotel where she was working and forcefully tried to take her with them. Takeshwari pleaded that she was 18 and was free to take decisions in her life and did not want to go back with her mother.
Hence the girl took the help of police helpline. After getting the complaint police rushed to the hotel and brought the people involved in the incident to the police station where the woman allegedly created chaos. However, though police should have solved the matter peacefully the policemen thrashed the woman.
