Woman feeds her children poison-laced milk, dies by suicide in Haryana
An Anganwadi worker and her two children were found dead at their home in Haryana's Fatehabad district
Chandigarh: In a shocking incident, an Anganwadi worker and her two children were found dead at their home in Haryana’s Fatehabad district, suspecting that the woman allegedly poisoned and killed her children before taking her own life, police said.
The incident took place in Mehuwala village of Fatehabad district of Haryana.
The deceased woman has been identified as Sudesh, who worked as an Anganwadi worker. Her two children were also found dead alongside her.
The case came to light after the bodies were recovered from a water tank inside the house.
As per investigation, the woman allegedly mixed poison in milk and gave it to her two children before drowning them in a water tank built inside the house.
She is then suspected to have consumed poison herself and jumped into the same tank.
According to the family, Sudesh had married Sandeep in a love marriage in 2014, and the couple had two children.
Based on his complaint, police have registered a case against the husband, Sandeep Machra, under Sections 103(1) and 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
As per police, the woman’s mobile phone contained a video allegedly recorded before her death.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested the husband and sent the bodies for post-mortem. The investigation is underway.
