Vande Bharat Express embarks on first commercial run
New Delhi: Adding another feather to the cap of ‘Make In India’ initiative, the Vande Bharat Express, India’s fastest train so far, kick started its first commercial journey here today.
The train embarked on its journey to Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh from New Delhi Railway Station this morning with jam-packed commuters on board as Union Railway Minister informed on Twitter by posting a video of the semi-high speed train.
As per the tweet of the railway minister, tickets for the train for next two weeks have already been sold out in advance.
While the Up train left the national capital at its scheduled time of 6 am and is expected to reach Varanasi at 2 pm, the Down train will leave Varanasi at 3 pm and reach Delhi at 11 pm on the same day.
The Vande Bharat Express will be available for commuting for five days in a week, excluding Mondays and Thursdays.
