Uttarakhand Fire: 4 People And 7 Animals Dead, CM Calls For Emergency meeting

Uttarakhand: In another incident of a forest fire that broke out in 62 acres of forest recently in Uttarakhand as many as four people were killed along with seven animals in the last 24 hours.

As per the details of the Principal Chief Conservator (fire), the raging fire destroyed property worth Rs 37 lakhs so far. In the wake of the massive wildfire, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat has called an emergency meeting.

According to the officer,  as many as 12,000 guards and fire watchers of the state forest department have been deployed to bring the fire down.

In Uttarakhand, forest fires usually start from February and continue for four months, but the state witnessed wildfires even during the winter this time. Most hill districts like Nainital, Almora, Tehri, and Pauri have come under the grip of raging forest fires.
