UPTET Exam 2021 cancelled after question paper leak, new dates to be announced soon

The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) exam 2021 (paper 1) has been cancelled following a paper leak, Prashant Kumar, ADG, Law and Order said on Sunday.

According to reports, the exam was scheduled to be held at 10 am today. However, just before the starting of the exam, the question paper was leaked on the day of exam and went viral on several WhatsApp groups in Mathura, Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr.

So, the authorities cancelled the exam just a few hours before the commencement of the exam. The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) will reportedly conduct the exam again after one month. However, candidates will not have to pay any application fees again.

Exam Regulatory Authority Secretary Sanjay Upadhyay has said that fresh date for the exam will be announced soon. He mentioned the cause of the exam cancellation as “unavoidable reasons”.

An investigation has been initiated into the matter and several people has been arrested who are involved in the case.

The UPTET 2021 exam was scheduled to have two papers, The paper 1 was scheduled to be conducted from 10 AM to 12:30 PM for primary school teachers for classes 1 to 5, while the  UPTET 2021 paper 2 was scheduled from 2:30 PM to 5 PM for higher primary school teachers for classes 6 to 8.
