Uttar-Pradesh: In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly assaulted by an ambulance driver and his aide in Ghazipur area of Lucknow while she was accompanying with her terminally ill husband to a nearby hospital.
The accused driver and helper also allegedly disconnected the husband’s oxygen support and threw him out of the vehicle. Later, he died.
The incident took place on August 30 in Siddharthnagar district of Uttar Pradesh.
As per reports, the woman had taken her husband to nearby hospital after he fell sick. Doctors at the hospital referred him to a different hospital as his condition deteriorated. Unable to pay the private hospital’s fee, the woman took her husband back home to get treatment.
She hired an ambulance, the driver then forced her to sit in front with him and along with his aide sexually harassed her. When she tried to protest and shout, they cut her husband’s oxygen supply and threw him out of the ambulance along with her. Her husband sustained serious injuries and his health deteriorated after the oxygen supply was cut. The duo also looted Rs 10,000 and some jewellery from her.
The woman managed to call the cops who rushed her sick husband to the district hospital from where he was referred to a higher centre in Gorakhpur but he died while he was being transported.
The woman then launched a complaint at the Ghazipur police station. The police then registered a case against both driver and his aide.
