UP man kills son for switching off television during World Cup final

A man allegedly killed his son for switching off television during final match of ICC Cricket World Cup in UP’s Kanpur.

Kanpur: A man allegedly killed his son for switching off television during final match of ICC Cricket World Cup between India and Australia in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur.

The incident occurred on Sunday, when the accused one Ganesh Pradesh killed his son, identified as Deepak Nishad after the boy demanded his father to prepare dinner first and watch match later. Ganesh was so engaged in watch TV, he did not listened what his son said. So, Deepak switched off the television to get his attention.

This incident led to a heated argument between the father-son duo. In a fit of rage, Ganesh strangled his son with an electric wire. After killing his son, Ganesh fled from the spot but was later caught by Kanpur police.

The police immediately arrested the accused and initiated a probe into the matter. The cops have also sent the body of deceased for post-morterm.
