Unborn child dies after man kicks, punches, beats 8 months pregnant wife in Uttarakhand

Dehradun: An inhuman incident took place in which 8 months pregnant wife was kicked, punched and beaten with stick by man over a dispute in Dehradun on June 5. After the brutal act it was learned that the unborn baby was killed during the incident.
The victim of the assault, the wife is identified as Seema. The accused person is identified as Babloo. Both of them are married since seven years and have two children together.
The incident took place after a dispute broke out between the couple during which Babloo allegedly kicked, punched on the abdomen and beat Seema with a stick.
The incident came to light when Seema’s father had come to her martial home to see her. But he was stopped from meeting her and going inside the house.
The father reportedly alerted the police, and the couple was taken to the police station. As the condition of Seema didn’t seem to be well, she was taken to hospital. The doctors informed that the baby inside her is no more.
As per reports, Police has registered a case under Babloo’s name based on Seema’s father complaint under the relevant sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Seema’s family has alleged that the man had forcefully taken her to Panipat for prenatal sex detection test. After knowing that the fetus is a girl, the dispute between the two broke out.
Initial enquiry also suggests that the dispute might have taken place due to land deal.
Further investigation into this matter is underway.
