Two terrorists gunned down in J&K, encounter underway

Srinagar: In the latest encounter between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, at least two ultras were gunned down and four soldiers sustained injuries in Sutsu village under Budgam district.

The gun battle erupted in the wee hours today after army launched an operation to hunt down the a group of terrorists who had been holed up in a residential building.

During the raid, the ultras opened fire at soldiers in retaliation to which two of them were gunned down. Their identification is yet to be ascertained.

Notably, it is the second encounter between security forces and terrorists in J&K in a span of 24 hours as yesterday, a joint team of CRPF, army and State Police had liquidated at least three terrorists belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba in  Shopian district.
