Two Lionesses Test Positive For Covid-19 At Etawah Safari Park In Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: As many as two lionesses have tested positive for Covid-19 at Etawah Safari Park in Uttar Pradesh, informed director of Etawah Safari Park.

Both of the big cats have been kept in isolation and they are being treated by the experts, further said the director. It is also stated that the condition of both the animals is normal.

According to reports, the authorities of the Etawah Safari sent samples of 14 lions and lionesses to Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) in Bareilly as two of the big cats have been down with fever since last few days. Out of them, 12 were tested negative.

The report of the samples of the lions is also being sent to the government besides the safari park management.

Earlier, eight Asiatic lions, including four males and four females, at the Nehru Zoological Park (NZP) in Hyderabad tested positive for coronavirus.
