TRS Supports Andhra’s Demand For Special Category Status: KCR

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday said his party will extend full support to the people of Andhra Pradesh over their demand for special category status as well as the Pollavaram project.

“We are not against the people of Andhra Pradesh, but against some individuals like N. Chandrababu Naidu who create problems, said KCR at a rally in Vikarabad in Telangana.

“We want to develop and we want Andhra Pradesh also to develop. AP also has the full support of Telangana and we have no opposition for the Polavaram project. Our idea is that both sides should benefit,” he added.

Validating his stance, KCR pointed out that TRS had in the past made it clear, both in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, that it was in favour of AP being granted SCS.

KCR further said that with the 16 seats in Telangana, which his party is confident of winning, they would support the demand of Andhra Pradesh for Special Category Status.
