Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb resigns

The Chief Minister of Tripura, Shri Biplab Kumar Deb meeting the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Shri Ram Vilas Paswan, in New Delhi on September, 19, 2018.

Agartala: Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb on Saturday submitted his resignation to the governor.

The decision comes a day after he met Union home minister Amit Shah. According to sources, it came from the BJP leadership.

Accompanied by Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, Deb went to the Raj Bhavan on Saturday afternoon and submitted his resignation to Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya.

Deb became the Chief Minister on March 9, 2018 after the BJP-led alliance came to power by defeating the Left Front in the Assembly elections.
