Tragic, Eight Of A Family Killed In Rajasthan Road Accident

Jaipur: In a tragic incident, eight people of a family were killed while four were injured after a vehicle they were travelling in rammed a truck in Rajasthan’s Tonk on early Wednesday.

The accident took place in Tonk district on the Jaipur-Kota highway at 2.15 am.

All the victims, belonging to Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh were returning back from the popular piligrim destination of Khatu Shyam ji temple.

Sources said, the family was returning to Madhya Pradesh in a car after visiting Khatushyam ji temple, when the trolley hit the car from behind due to which eight died on the spot while four others sustained critical injuries.

Out of the deceased four were men, two women and two children.

On being informed, the police reached the spot and rescued the bodies. Those injured were immediately rushed to the Saadat Government hospital in Tonk, from where they were referred to Jaipur for treatment.

The trailer driver fled from the spot and a hunt is on to nab him.

“Sad to know that eight people have lost lives in a road accident in Tonk, while returning from Khatu Shyam ji to their town in MP. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. May they remain strong in this difficult time and prayers for speedy recovery of those injured,” Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted.
